Why Parrtjima 2026 is the Perfect NT Itinerary Stop

‘Language’ Theme Lights Up Parrtjima 2026

For 2026, organisers shine the light on ‘Language’ imagined through spectacular new light installations and interactive experiences that honour its power, rhythm and beauty. From ancient songlines and oral traditions to contemporary expressions of identity—it’s bound to be bold, beautiful and moving.

“We are thrilled to welcome people back to Mparntwe for Parrtjima 2026,” says Curator Rhoda Roberts.

“It is an honour to share the enduring wisdom contained within our languages and to see ancient storytelling translated through the light of today. We welcome you to join us to witness this transformation beneath the starry skies of the Red Centre.”
