Network RV Relaunch Explained with Jake King | JB Group | Under the Awning
Under the Awning
Episode 2
Watch or listen
In this episode
- Why JB Group brought Network RV into its portfolio.
- How the newly built caravans differ from previous production.
- PVC framing, composite panels and the layouts retained for the relaunch.
- Where Network RV and Victory fit alongside Traveller, New Age and JB Caravans.
- How the existing Network RV dealers fit into the new arrangement.
- What Jake says about assistance for owners of previously built vans.
- Choosing a caravan for your budget, family and travel plans.
Key takeaways
- Start with how you want to travel. Tell the dealer whether you’re planning short park stays, free camping, family holidays or a longer trip. Include how those plans might change over time.
- Look beyond the layout. Construction, power systems, water capacity and equipment can separate vans that look very similar online.
- Put after-sales support on your checklist. Ask where you can arrange servicing and repairs while travelling, and how warranty work is organised.
- Previous owners need individual answers. Jake describes assistance for earlier Network RV vans as case by case. Speak with your dealer about your particular situation.
- Slow down the buying process. Walk through the vans, try the spaces and ask questions before committing to a major purchase.

STEPH
Just a quick note before we get into the episode. We filmed this one at a caravan show. While it was absolutely pouring down outside. So unfortunately, this isn’t quite our usual standard, but the conversation is a good one. So stick with us and enjoy the episode.
Good morning guys. Well, welcome to another episode of Under the Awning here with What’s Up Down Under.
00:00:34:24 – 00:00:40:12
STEPH
And this week we’ve got Jake King from the JB Group. Jake, welcome.
JAKE
Thanks, Steph.
00:00:40:12 – 00:00:46:07
STEPH
Thanks for being here. Do you mind just giving a bit of a quick rundown on what it is that you do with the JB
caravan group?
00:00:46:11 – 00:01:16:12
JAKE
So I started with JB Group
last year. So it’s been about a year and a half now.
I started with looking after the dealerships, as JB Group had a retail and then transitioning to working closely with the
factory. Chris, Sharon and Alex and any acquisitions, mergers that come about, start putting together and build a company. And.
it’s an interesting job. It’s challenging, but it’s also quite
00:01:16:14 – 00:01:23:08
STEPH
So I suppose you touched on acquisitions there. That’s why we’re here today. This isn’t the usual setting for under the awning.
00:01:23:08 – 00:01:31:04
STEPH
We’re actually inside a caravan because, believe it or not, it’s pouring rain in Melbourne.
JAKE
Yeah, yeah.
STEPH
So we’re we’re at the dining table
00:01:31:07 – 00:01:41:03
STEPH
we’re in one of the brand new network, Wr-v caravans, which is a brand that the JB Group has just acquired. So that’s something that we really want to know.
00:01:41:05 – 00:02:07:18
STEPH
Why did the JB Group bring network RV in?
JAKE
I guess JP Group is actually a very big company, and so we’ve got some very established brands as it is being JB itself, New Age Traveler, also build Paradise. We do motorhomes campers as well. So when we looked at network and there has been other opportunities with other brands, but network was a very strong brand.
00:02:07:19 – 00:02:50:18
JAKE
It had a very big following, social gathering, and it’s a very good product. Unfortunately may or may have not been run correctly, but the product itself, we looked at and thought, well, with our free brand currently that we have network has some very good opportunities to go either side of those brands and within the JB Group mold. So Network and Victory are the first two we’ve worked on and we’re, as you said, lucky enough.
We’re we’ve got six of them sitting here at the Sandown show on display and they’ve had nothing but good results. So we’re quite, quite proud of what’s been produced. But it’s only the stuff.
00:02:50:22 – 00:02:55:18
STEPH
you mentioned that we’ve got six of the new network of any caravans here at the Sandown show.
00:02:55:19 – 00:03:21:11
STEPH
We’re obviously sitting in one of them.
JAKE
Yep.
STEPH
These network RV brands are not from the previous production. This is now what JB Group is building is building correct?
JAKE
Yeah.
STEPH
So these brands are these six here you have built in how many months.
JAKE
So yeah, it all happened very quickly. So what happened buying the IP, getting the plans getting the specs layout.
00:03:21:11 – 00:04:18:13
JAKE
So we we started working with our design team, the engineers putting those together. We’re very lucky that their group, we build our chassis in-house. Do all our manufacturing in-house out of Campbell Field. All our brands are actually built in, same factories, routine production line. So we’re well equipped to be able to build the vans in a quick time frame.
We were lucky enough that being under the one roof, the products that we’re using with these high end in New Age Traveler and JB, we wanted to keep that going through. So our suppliers, we have a very good connection with. So we’re able to have quick access to those. And then the plans got drawn up and everything here at Sandown show is brand new.
They’re all timber caravans, which is a big change to network because obviously with caravans, water leaks, a big thing we want to avoid. So we’ve done that and
00:04:18:16 – 00:04:29:10
STEPH
what you’ve mentioned what you guys have, what you’ve built, but what’s changing with network coming under the umbrella? What what can buyers expect to see in terms of you mentioned you’ve gone to the engineers and the designers.
00:04:29:10 – 00:04:56:02
STEPH
What what’s changing in terms of the old network build versus the new ones?
JAKE
I guess there’s a few different things. The one one major thing, it’s security. It’s a quality product. They are massive, especially in the caravan industry. And elephant in the room. There’s a lot of unfortunate companies going under right now. JBS backing, which the directors of this company is huge.
00:04:56:04 – 00:06:32:18
JAKE
And we’re going to be around for a very, very long time. So for customers, security, knowing that they’re getting a very good quality product, they’ve got warranty. There’s a dealer network all around Australia. It’s not just being able to get a repair or a service, a network, dealership. There’s also JB new age travelers all around the country, the open to doing the work and repairs.
Okay. In regards to the build quality itself. So we’ve moved away from timber framing. We’ve got Peavey. See. Timber. Oh, sorry. PVC framing instead of timber framing. We’ve also got sandwich panel composite framing as well. They are two big changes to the structure of it. The layout. We believe that network had cell. They’re quite a big event and very popular with traveling all around Australia.
So the layout we’ve kept. But in regards to some of the, the, I guess some of the materials, some of the supplies we use being projector, we’ve got a good relationship with them. They’ve brought out some new products. Now, when Domenic they’ve been around for a very long time and see is another product. Cruz master.
So we’re using good quality brands that are well established that are going to be in the caravan industry for a long time. Davey Group has done that for ever and a day. So we believe adding our processes, our structures, our business into the network product, we think it’s just going to make it stronger and better for the consumer.
00:06:32:18 – 00:06:59:21
STEPH
So you’ve kept the layout in terms of design. That’s when a consumer thinks of design. They think, what’s the layout? But in terms of design, in the back end of the engineering and stuff, you’ve put some JB flair onto that,
JAKE
but definitely put some go there on to that. So it’s when when you see the product you’ll see full C and C, for us better quality.
00:06:59:23 – 00:07:32:14
JAKE
We’re using lighter bench tops. We’re using the like I said, the layouts that that network originally had, we’re using them, but just streamlining everything to make it a lot more efficient food production. And then JB Group, with our engineering team, they can change things very quickly with a very good group there. And unlike myself being through university staff, these guys are actually very qualified going through uni.
00:07:32:17 – 00:07:50:02
JAKE
Yeah, doing their courses and we have amazing stuff there. So if we need to customize some of these builds for the customers, we can definitely do that and make slight changes as well as streamlining and keeping standardized facts so the customers know what they’re getting.
STEPH
Yeah. Also
00:07:50:02 – 00:08:15:02
STEPH
So why should buyers have confidence in the new network. Are they.
JAKE
So we we are in ten dealerships job group in ten dealerships around the country. Within those dealerships, we probably have all three of our brands. We’ve got qualified technicians, service managers who have been in the industry for a long time.
00:08:15:04 – 00:09:02:16
JAKE
But also you had a third party dealer network that’s been very strong, and I think they set the benchmark probably up. I started with like almost six years ago, and the third party building network group was so supportive, look after one another. So it didn’t matter whether you bought a caravan in Melbourne, if someone’s traveling in Perth, they can actually get a service done.
If there was any warranty issues that popped up, right, they were able to get those warranty, repairs done immediately. I think our network of what we have is very strong, and that’s where I think consumers have the can have the confidence that no matter what part of the country you’re in, there’s always going to be a repairer, not just the JV group, own dealership, but also served party.
00:09:02:22 – 00:09:23:24
JAKE
And it doesn’t matter, like I said, whether it is a net worth, if you go past the JB Group dealership that we aren’t selling network products in because we’re not going to dealer in that state established already, you can go to that JB Group dealership and we’ll look after the servicing or any warranty as well.
STEPH
Yeah. So it’s not it’s not just where you bought it from.
00:09:24:00 – 00:09:52:22
STEPH
Go back to your dealer. It’s where it’s family.
JAKE
Yeah I’m a part of the family that is. And that’s really important for us.
STEPH
Yeah. Awesome. Awesome. So touching on the the biggest question that everybody wants to know. We did just talk about warranties. We’re talking about warranties for newly purchased vans since X date. We’re not talking previous warranties.
00:09:52:22 – 00:10:22:19
STEPH
Or how is J.B. going to handle all those sorts of things.
JAKE
What’s going to be a case by case, right. And to be realistic about it all, as I said earlier, network, they had a very good backing and they have a lot of customers out there and there’s a lot of bands on the road. There are unfortunately some situations that we won’t be able to help with, but we won’t know until we see the van site, the band and work through it wherever we can help.
00:10:22:24 – 00:11:16:07
JAKE
We guarantee with it. Yeah, we’ve spoken to the dealers and we’ve been very lucky. As we said, we’re sitting in this van right now, which is at Sandown Show, part of caravan HQ. Caravan HQ has stayed on as a dealer and they got multiple dealerships around the country because the belief they have with us, helping them, helping their customers past and present who are about to purchase.
But we’re here to help where possible and we’re here to give the opportunity to the customers. Just in any situation that go to the dealership, speak to them, it’ll come through us and parts suppliers, they’re they’re on board helping out where possible. So we’ll do our best to help every customer possible. Yeah. Some unfortunately it might be user error and there might be a slight issue with that, but it happens.
00:11:16:08 – 00:11:35:09
JAKE
The traveling for driving caravans. Everyone who has caravans know is that. Yeah but big group. We only part store so we have access to parts there. Yeah very easily. And we’ll work with the dealers. That’s what came to make sure their customers stay on the road.
STEPH
Yeah. And that brings me to another question. Dogging dealers.
00:11:35:11 – 00:11:57:16
STEPH
we’ve touched before that JB Group has its brands that it sells. And now you’ve added network RV into that level of brands. But you’ve also mentioned that C caravan HQ is staying on as a dealer of network RV. Can you maybe clarify for everybody the structure of, at a retail level, how we can find a network of a van to go and look at it?
00:11:57:18 – 00:13:11:01
JAKE
Okay. So right now the website’s being relaunched. That’s all happening. JB Group website has been relaunched. We’re quite lucky having yourself at what’s up in the scene, so definitely helps having access to a media company that. Right. So if you go online, jump on network RB you’ll actually see our deal is listed. If you also click there’ll be a tab that will have JB Group right.
That will also list our JB Group dealerships as well. Right. So as I was saying, our third party dealers, even as it’s not JB Group owned our state party dealers will all be on the website for everyone to see and very accessible because it’s all about the customers. At the end of the day, it’s in those steps when you’re traveling around the country in a caravan, you buy it in Melbourne.
The chances of driving to New South Wales, Queensland if a problem goes wrong, you need to fix anything. You can’t come back to them, right? Sometimes you can if it’s just a minor screw loose somewhere. But the easiest thing to do jump on the website and actually find all the dealers, whether it’s third party or JPEG group.
00:13:11:07 – 00:13:32:10
STEPH
So if I wanted to buy a network RB, man, I’ve gone and I’ve looked at everything. Is network IV going to be in the JB Group showrooms?
JAKE
Know right now network the dealers. We’re doing a really good job. Right. Unfortunate with the factory, but the dealers are very supportive. So JB Group wants to continue to support those dealers.
00:13:32:16 – 00:14:25:11
JAKE
So we don’t want to be taking their hard work over the last five, six, ten years. Take the hard work their customers take away from them. We want to make sure that they’re supported by us and they have our backing, and it’s only going to make them stronger. Yes. So we want to support them and their companies. Our directors are very big on Australian brands, Australian made strain owned.
So our dealerships have taking a big a big pump, let’s just say even with us. So for us we want to show them support, make sure that the vans are in their yards. As I was saying, the better quality, they have better support from us. There’ll be more marketing. Yeah, right. There’ll be more opportunity, more growth. So this is where we want to pay back to them for coming and staying on as a dealer and rewarding them for the hard work.
00:14:25:11 – 00:14:42:11
STEPH
So all of the behind the scenes is being sort of all the operations is being done by the JB group and then the front line, the retail side of it. You’re still looking to your network RV dealers,
JAKE
correct?
STEPH
Essentially. I suppose you know, they’re the experts. They’ve been selling these for five plus years. They, they they know that there’s another state.
00:14:42:17 – 00:15:19:05
JAKE
Yeah. And that’s I think that’s the big thing that they’ve sold the bands to the customers. They’ve built the rapport with. The customers have spoken multiple times. The caravan, unless you’re buying, has stopped them in it and it’s in and out within a week. These are custom things. You’re sitting down doing colors, playing. It is that goes in.
Yeah. So they get to know the customers really really well. Yeah. Customers feel comfortable with their dealer. So they go and pick it up after they pick it up during a thousand KS three months, the first service, they want to go back to their selling dealer because that’s who they built rapport with. That’s where they come to. Yeah.
00:15:19:07 – 00:15:31:22
STEPH
So their hard earned money to
JAKE
absolutely. You know so for us it’s about supporting those dealers and making sure they get the best support from us. Because like I said end of the day customers are much support. Yeah.
00:15:31:22 – 00:15:49:16
STEPH
So for someone walking into a dealership, there can be several brands on offer, and they all offer lots of different things. And I think JB Group has been adding brands to their portfolio. Out of the ones that JB offers, do you mind walking through each one and letting us know who the the ideal or the target sort of buyer would be for each brand?
00:15:49:21 – 00:16:57:05
JAKE
Yeah, I guess it comes down to and sit here and say to you at.
I know each van has a different level. I’ll be real. I’ll be real with this one went to be real with this. So it comes out
guess I guess within it’s not good for into a car right? You start off with a budget and then you wish this gets bigger and bigger and bigger and bigger. No different to a house. Your ways. Look at a price range and get bigger and bigger. I think caravans now are built for the consumer. Right.
And it’s not you get what you pay for scenario, but I think that the way it works is JB Group wanted to make sure that we can cover all customers, whether it’s someone buying their first caravan, not wanting to spend a ton of money, whether it’s 50, $60,000 as a start. We want to make sure we have a product there for them.
00:16:57:07 – 00:17:00:05
STEPH
Also for 50, $60,000 is a lot of money. So.
00:17:00:08 – 00:18:44:02
JAKE
Yeah, right.
Some people can’t afford a brand new caravan, so even that out of their budget. But there’s got to be a starting point. Yeah. So traveler, we believe, is the van for people starting off wanting to get involved with caravan and get a feel for it. But it’s also then that we build family vans, bunk beds, treating us for people to actually enjoy the experience.
Then you move along with God network victory. And you age caravans that sit within let’s say a middle range. That was quite a challenge because obviously vans have very similar layouts. There is battery management systems that you can pick from that we need to work out which was best going to be suited. So I guess what we did with those three brands is we had to make a difference of it.
So we’re using PVC in the network, which the, the framing that’s not used in New Age or Victory. We use concert sandwich composite panels in network and New Age, but that’s not used in victory. We use the aluminum framing in the New Age and a victory which is not used in a network. Right. So when you start looking at these three brands, people prefer one over the other.
Right. So rather than us sit there and I guess compete against ourselves and make it very difficult because we have new age traveler in our job group dealerships, and we also have network and victory in our network dealers. So it becomes complicated.
00:18:44:02 – 00:18:45:21
STEPH
Big puzzle together.
00:18:45:23 – 00:19:47:20
JAKE
Yeah. So we’ve got that sort of sitting in the middle range, and then from there for those extreme caravans want to go off grid and they want the real premium product.
We’ve got JB where JB, the battery management being offered, you can travel around Australia. Eco flow is one of the best systems out there which we’re very proud of. It’s part of the JB Group. We use that a full off grid capabilities. The exciting part is that have gone to JB’s just gone to full aluminum world of framing.
Yeah. They’re getting a new look, which are at the Sandown show for people to see. But in saying that as well, JB provide the road extreme for the people who want that high end caravan. Can’t afford to pay the extreme. What we’ve done is we’ve taken some of the options off to bring the price down into a JB, to give people the opportunity to get into
that premium product and build it to their needs.
00:19:47:21 – 00:19:52:21
STEPH
Right. So it’s like a baseline and then you add optional you’re doing.
JAKE
So it’s been it’s been a
00:19:52:21 – 00:20:21:11
JAKE
challenge. And the more brands you add the more confusing it actually gets. Yeah. But once you go into a dealership you sit down with the dealers who are the experts, they run you through this, they tell you the ins and outs, and it’s then up to the customer to pick what they would prefer, the van, that they want made out of.
And that will then go to the models and the mates of who provides that. And it really builds the customer experience.
00:20:21:14 – 00:20:57:19
STEPH
Yeah. We we’re talking in the last podcast that we did, we were actually sort of discussing what should you be asking? You know, the sales rep when you walk into a dealership, you know, what’s the what’s the thing that you think that people are missing?
And it’s sort of it’s actually more don’t ask a question that tell them what you want to do, you know, short term and long term and make sure that you get a van that it starts off in, you know, yes, the right price range and the right number of fans and layout. But then, you know, in the next 5 or 10 years, sort of are you going to for future proof yourself, or are you maybe going to sell that van and, and upgrade or downsize or whatever it might be?
00:20:57:19 – 00:21:07:22
STEPH
And I think that’s the key, where we’re really getting to know that the dealerships are really responsible for quite a lot.
JAKE
Yep.
STEPH
We actually, one of
00:21:07:22 – 00:21:43:07
STEPH
the conversations we had was almost selling a holiday. Yeah. My background is actually a travel agent for, like, and when I look at a van and I look at selling a, a big package holiday, it’s it’s almost the same thing.
What do you want to experience? How do you want to travel? Because again, it could be one, 2 or 3 star. It could be 4 or 5 all inclusive. Yeah, it’s the same. It’s the same conversation because these people just have the opportunity to walk up and go on the holiday whenever they want. They’re not bound to most of the time, timelines, deadlines and the stresses of, like we said, airports and things like that.
But they’re really they’re buying a dream.
00:21:43:12 – 00:22:03:18
JAKE
They are. It’s quite funny. It’s my my family had caravan. It was first caravan we had. It was in like a block. Yeah. Yeah it was, it was a park. No shower, no toilet. The sink was still a pump action.
00:22:03:23 – 00:22:06:00
STEPH
Okay. Yeah.
00:22:06:02 – 00:24:04:06
JAKE
Which was. Yep. No air cons? No nothing.
If you wanted to go to the toilet. Back in those days, there was a bucket around the side of the caravan. Or there was a toilet block about 500m. You take your pick. And as a little kid, when you’re about 4 or 5 years of age, scared of the dark,
you like it? Right? So
when you look at the caravans now and being travel agent, as you know, people want to fly first class business, class economy, I think it’s almost safe to say it doesn’t matter what product you’re buying.
Any new caravan job group sells its full on suites, kitchens, some toilets, shower the air con fridges. Yeah. It’s, it’s glamping. Yeah. Even though it’s cheapest. Yeah, but it can be a one bedroom apartment on wheels at its finest. Yeah. And as you said before, going in, speaking and being in sales a little bit, the customers, I think when I first started, it was mixed messaging, because there was so many changes, so many new things happening.
The last six years, caravans have changed drastically.
We’re now it’s a case of simple questions. Are you planning on going to a caravan park or are you free camping? Yeah. Six years ago, an offer, a caravan was all determined about suspension and within batteries. Yeah. Offroad caravans. Now you’re talking battery management systems, inverters, solar panels, factories. There’s a lot to watch to the power system now.
Yeah. And then we’re caravan parks. You can go and buy a new caravan, plug it in, sit there and still have everything that goes off grid capability then. On a powered site. And it’s still just as good. I remember the best time I had caravan was in a caravan park.
00:24:04:11 – 00:24:09:16
STEPH
right, let’s make this really practical for people out there. With all of the brands now available under the JB network.
00:24:09:20 – 00:24:27:04
STEPH
I’m going to throw you a couple of scenarios, a couple of family dynamics. And if you could throw me back where each of those people should start when they’re looking for their van.
JAKE
Yep.
STEPH
Alrighty. So we’ve got a couple buying their first caravan, maybe a younger couple. And they’re pretty budget conscious.
JAKE
Yep.
00:24:27:06 – 00:24:31:17
JAKE
So budget conscious couples.
00:24:31:19 – 00:24:52:09
JAKE
I definitely start with the trouble. Traveler can have a touring van semi off. Right. It can go to a caravan park and give you those short trips to off road capabilities. So I definitely start with traveler is where starting.
STEPH
Awesome.
00:24:52:11 – 00:24:58:21
STEPH
Alrighty. So what about, true travelers preparing for their lap of Australia?
00:24:58:23 – 00:25:00:20
JAKE
Had a caravan before?
00:25:00:22 – 00:25:02:13
STEPH
Yes.
JAKE
Okay,
00:25:02:15 – 00:26:09:01
JAKE
so had a caravan before traveling around Australia. I genuinely believe that. And if this these people are experienced, I’d be going. JB. Simply, JB’s got the eco flow system that is going to take you absolutely anywhere and everywhere. Which means aircon heating. So for hot and cold, definitely need it. Free water. Got enough water for showering?
Toilets everywhere you need to go. So JB for the real experienced. But if it’s not affordable. Because we’re talking about price, then network. And new age have or new age specially expedition that has full off grid capabilities to go to projector system inverter which network so they will get the job done. It’s just driving a Mercedes instead of a Lamborghini.
00:26:09:02 – 00:26:22:11
STEPH
Right. Yeah. Okay. Awesome. Awesome. All right. We’ve then got a family. Who? A family who needs bunks. They need to have a lot of storage. Maybe, some young kids, but maybe some older kids as well.
JAKE
Yeah. Yeah.
00:26:22:13 – 00:27:12:06
JAKE
Well, that one. And which it’s exciting for me with network coming on board. Network and victory caravans. So big events.
20, 20, 24ft. They have quite a good range of family vans. And not just standard bunk size either. They have a wide bunk, so a lot of bunks will be around 700 wide. 1800 in length. Some of these networking victories go to about 1400 wide and two meters in length. So for the bigger kids, they also do quad bunks as well.
And plenty of storage. So if you’re looking for then you’ve got bigger kids. You’ve got 3 or 4. Definitely. Network and Victory have some very good layouts and I’d be going that direction.
00:27:12:08 – 00:27:14:23
STEPH
Awesome. Yeah, that’s. I didn’t know that. That’s good to know.
00:27:15:00 – 00:27:26:07
STEPH
But experienced owners looking for more comfort.
JAKE
Well, that’s. You know what? That that’s where our brands are actually very lucky.
00:27:26:09 – 00:27:39:16
JAKE
Because what you’ll find is New age, have a very comfortable range, high end expedition. And our new age owners group, they actually want to stay in a new age.
00:27:39:18 – 00:27:41:01
STEPH
Yeah. So they’re loyal?
00:27:41:06 – 00:28:19:14
JAKE
Yeah. They are. And that’s what you find with caravans? Right. If you do the right thing by them and you give them good customer service, they want to stay within their brands.
So we’re very lucky that new age, have high end victory network, have high end. And as I was saying, if you want to go to the next level, J b is another step altogether. So me, if I was going to pick a caravan on precious,
really small. I
was just a little bit, just a little bit more glamping than ever before.
Yeah. So that’ll be definitely going at JB. I’ll be having my leather couches
00:28:19:19 – 00:28:36:11
JAKE
and I’d be having tension. So airbags, VCs definitely. So don’t ask me how to use them, but I definitely have them. So Queen so they have its standard queen. I’d be done. King size bed. Yeah. So for me. Yeah. Yeah.
STEPH
Awesome. All
00:28:36:11 – 00:28:36:14
STEPH
right.
00:28:36:14 – 00:28:43:11
STEPH
Well, the last one. What about travelers that have previously towed and are now considering a motorhome?
JAKE
Yep. Well,
00:28:43:13 – 00:29:40:20
JAKE
that’s, that’s interesting question, because motorhomes, I think within the last 12 months have actually really grown.
Sales are up, up. And
J.B. has. And this is my opinion, not being biased. J.B. has one of the best motorhomes, I believe, out there on the road, on the roads.
It’s affordable for consumers. Beauty about JB is we also have Paradise. We have new age campers. We have JB new age motorhomes, and then we have Paradise, which is to.
That’s
it. And coming to the group, not understanding lot about motorhomes. Now seeing them, they are absolutely incredible. And it’s the same scenario is that the caravan is wanting to start off.
We have the campers at the lower range. There’s still, as you know, cars.
00:29:40:22 – 00:29:43:20
STEPH
I took a new age camper to do. We did.
00:29:43:21 – 00:29:46:23
JAKE
You know, I was allowed to take it. They didn’t trust me.
00:29:47:03 – 00:30:13:16
JAKE
but that you camp as you know that beautiful.
STEPH
Yeah.
JAKE
The motorhomes are for those out there and, like, not being biased. Please, if you’re looking at my home, check out JB. I really think they have said the benchmark. The quality is outstanding. We have so many customers buying JB motorhomes and then also they’re buying their second motorhome, upgrading to another JB.
00:30:13:18 – 00:30:17:16
JAKE
Just things grow the standards, the
00:30:17:18 – 00:30:22:11
JAKE
start looking at the clock and all sorts of things.
STEPH
So what’s the Jamie motorhome built on? What.
00:30:22:16 – 00:30:28:21
JAKE
So it’s on and chassis. You can actually drive them on a standard car license,
00:30:29:01 – 00:30:31:04
STEPH
And that’s the same sort of Paradise.
00:30:31:05 – 00:30:34:14
JAKE
You can drive them on a standard, Carlos. Impending on which one it is.
00:30:34:18 – 00:30:38:11
STEPH
Have you just designed a new Paradise? So you just released a new Paradise design?
00:30:38:13 – 00:30:55:02
JAKE
So we have we’ve been working on a couple.
STEPH
Okay.
JAKE
So my advice would be to get on to the website. Mark is incredible.
STEPH
Yes.
JAKE
Mark knows more about these Paradise motorhomes than you could ever imagine.
00:30:55:06 – 00:31:19:15
JAKE
So instead of googling it and trust me, Google, I know how to most answers. Mark. Is Google,
And they are literally amazing. We talk about one bedroom apartments. They expand. There’s so much room. It’s crazy. They are. They’ve got the Mercedes chassis over there. They’ve got the chassis over there.
Just so we’ve got our slide out to sit there. They are incredible.
00:31:19:19 – 00:31:27:13
STEPH
What should someone ask in the dealership to work out where the network, RV
any brand in your group to work out if the brand is right for them.
00:31:27:15 – 00:33:29:13
JAKE
Well, I guess Steph, it’s like it’s like everything research, right? You got to start somewhere. So the first thing I’d be doing is saying jump on the website. If you can’t get into a dealership, definitely do that. It does become overwhelming. And then like most things, houses, cars. When you start looking, things start to look very, very similar.
I’m a big believer with when purchasing a caravan. Best thing to do is go into the little ship, see, touch and feel. Speak to the sales rep at the dealership. Because I was saying earlier days I got confused myself when people would say one off road caravan. Some people think that’s just suspension. When it’s not right off road, caravan is offering capabilities.
Yeah, right. Being able to take it through river crossings. Travel all around Australia. So there’s a lot of information to know if you go into the dealership and sit down and have a coffee, talk to the sales people. Slow the process right down and ask questions. Right. As a as a consumer coming in. Don’t just write to ask the questions because it is a big purchase, right?
It is a lot of money that you’re putting out. So you want to make sure that you’re happy. These guys are the experts, so they’ll try and guide you in the right path when you go to the dealerships. We’re lucky enough to have a group having traveler, New Age and JB. Whether it’s caravans, whether it’s a camper, vans, motorhomes.
We have those brands there so you can see them in the flesh. You can get an understanding right. You can see the layout. You can see the materials, the build quality. Just slow it right down. That’s the best advice I can give. Because otherwise you look online. Like I said, they look the same. Yeah. Right. It makes it difficult.
00:33:29:15 – 00:34:00:20
STEPH
The the difference is color online.
JAKE
Yeah.
STEPH
Right. And that’s about it. And which way you want your bed facing.
JAKE
Absolutely. So that’s that’s the one thing. The other part I will say is when purchasing a caravan you’re dealing network support group. Right. So I’m never out there to say anything negative towards other companies. But if I state the obvious, you go to a dealership that sells the caravan, but they’re the only dealer in the country.
00:34:00:22 – 00:34:33:08
JAKE
Well, that’s going to make it difficult to serve as your caravan when you’re traveling and going around everywhere. JB Group, as I said, having such a big deal in that work, right. And very supportive. It’s very big family. Family orientated. Right. That I think is, if not the most important. Second most important thing about having caravan. Yeah.
You want to make sure you can service it. So going into the dealership picking event, is important, but it’s the after service that customers really want
00:34:33:08 – 00:34:51:08
STEPH
right, well, plenty there for buyers to consider. Jake, thank you so much for giving us the rundown on the new network RV. I’m sure everyone is excited to get out there and see what’s new and how it’s all going to unravel. So, everyone, thanks for joining us. That’s under the awning.
JAKE
Thanks for having me, Steph.
