Overview

The JB Dirt Road Xtreme 23ft 6in Rear Club Lounge is a semi off-road caravan designed for nomad travellers and growing families who want versatile, separate living spaces. With its special purpose design, it has no direct rivals, though similar-sized vans from Supreme Caravans, Wonderland RV and Evernew offer alternative layouts.

Sporting a national park-friendly specification, the 2025 JB Dirt Road Xtreme provides co-travellers defined private retreats, courtesy of a clever initiative from JB Caravans design lead Alex Bi: two spaces that double as living/sleeping zones, connected in a unique way.

With no fixed bunks, travelling nomad couples lose no liveable space within this versatile 23ft 6in layout, though there’s still plenty for families here, especially as they grow.

Is the JB Dirt Road Xtreme 23ft 6in right for me?

The JB Dirt Road Xtreme best suits travellers who prioritise versatile personal space. It is ideal for adult families travelling together, older kids, mates in convoy or couples enjoying different interests wanting a robust, semi-off-road caravan with a powerful off-grid electrical system and cleverly defined living spaces.

Layout, Comfort & Liveability – Will it fit my lifestyle?

This innovative dual-living layout cleverly creates two palatial sanctuaries for personal space and relaxation.

Interior Layout

The innovative bathroom layout is a divided master bedroom ensuite, anchored by a central wall-to-floor panel fitted with a washbasin, drawers and a designer mirror that doubles as a divider and faces the full-width club lounge.

A little forward of this panel, behind separate doors, you’ll find a large shower on one side and a toilet on the other-in easy reach of the master sleeping quarters.

The split kitchen setup features wall-to-ceiling cabinetry on one side, incorporating a linen press, compressor fridge-freezer, half-height robe and a euro-style laundry. Inbuilt appliances streamline this space, with the veneer timber tops providing charming detailing around the four-hob gas/electric cooktop, grill and full oven.

The main living and dining area is a larger-than-average club lounge, smartly upholstered with diamond stitching in a modular style for the second multifunctional living-sleeping zone.

Comfort & Practicality

As you enter the 23’6 Rear Door Club Lounge, the powder-room panel forms a powerful focal point with vertical grain on veneer timber and a round mirror set within an arch, accented with layered lighting.

Behind that, the main sleeping configuration features a queen-size bed with a 6ft 2in innerspring mattress flanked with a grand double diamond-stitched bedhead and generous size bedside tables for books, keys, and crafts plus 240V/USB points for your smart appliances.

Layered and Targeted lighting boost functionality and there’s room for two televisions indoors, the first behind the powder room panel for the master bedroom and a second in view of the lounge. Wiring for Starlink comes standard.

Build, Features & Self-Sufficiency – Can it handle my adventures?

Equipped with the JB Dirt Road Xtreme spec, this twin-axle 23’6 Rear Door Club Lounge touring van will withstand a little rough stuff with independent trailing arm suspension.

Chassis & Suspension

This 23ft 6in Club lounge layout seen here sports JB’s Dirt Road Xtreme semi off-road specification, with niceties like Raptor-coating on the ALKO chassis and on the front toolboxes introduced for 2025.

The ALKO Cross Country Suspension 2.0 is a good choice for JB’s semi off-road spec, fitted with smart shocks with an external chamber that cool the internal oils, for taming the coils repeatedly over corrugations.

Power & Water systems

  • a 4kW 48V system EcoFlow power system
  • 400W solar up top
  • a 2600W inverter
  • 240V/USB points for your smart appliances
  • 2x 95L freshwater tanks, 95L grey

Storage & exterior design

Previously, JB impressed us with its new Raptor-coated toolboxes on the compact Gator X so we were very pleased to see that replicated here on this JB Dirt Road Xtreme, the largest layout on this spec.
