What’s Up Downunder is entering a new era, with Olympic champion Ariarne Titmus announced as host of the show’s new one-hour television format. The new format launches Saturday 22 August 2026.
The refreshed series will bring a bigger, more immersive version of What’s Up Downunder to Australian screens. It will combine travel, caravanning, touring, food, destinations and real on-the-road stories in a longer format. This is designed for viewers who love seeing Australia from the road.

For more than a decade, What’s Up Downunder has celebrated the caravan and camping lifestyle. It showcases the people, places and products that shape the way Australians travel. In 2026, the show expands that storytelling with a new one-hour format. It will also have a new host who is already one of Australia’s most recognisable sporting names.
Ariarne Titmus, born in Launceston, Tasmania, is one of Australia’s most celebrated swimmers. The Australian Olympic Committee lists her Olympic history as Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024. Her major career events include the 200m, 400m and 800m freestyle, plus the 4x200m freestyle relay.
Swimming Australia confirmed Titmus retired from all levels of swimming in October 2025 with 33 international medals. These include eight Olympic medals: four gold, three silver and one bronze.

Now, she is stepping into a different kind of adventure.
As host of the new-look What’s Up Downunder, Ariarne will help bring fresh energy to the series as it heads into another chapter of Australian touring television. The show will continue to highlight the freedom of caravanning and road travel. In addition, it will give audiences more time with each journey, each destination and each story.
The move also marks an exciting crossover between sport, lifestyle and travel. Ariarne’s discipline, warmth and connection with Australian audiences make her a natural fit for a show built around exploration, resilience and the joy of discovering what is just down the road.
The new one-hour format will allow What’s Up Downunder to go deeper than ever before. Viewers can expect more destination features, more touring advice, more food and local produce, more caravan and RV lifestyle content, and more of the real moments that happen between stops.

For caravanners, campers and armchair travellers alike, the 2026 series promises a fresh reason to tune in each week.
What’s Up Downunder’s new one-hour show, hosted by Ariarne Titmus, launches on Channel 10 at 1:30PM AEST – Saturday 22 August 2026.
