Overview

Moreover, this Grand Caravan Peak 19ft 6in features a true full power off-grid spec, and a significant toolbox and tailgate, all riding on a coated laser-cut chassis.

It sounds beastly but it’s surprisingly light for its capabilities with Aeroglass construction and fibreglass exteriors encasing XPS foam from Link Composites, that together with the optional timber-free cabinetry, shaves 240kg from the build.

Grand Caravans’ own professional interior designer elevates this space, furnishing it with attractive touches like the flutted basin and matt white ceilings that sensitively reflect modern trends.

1. Is this Grand Caravans 2025 Peak 19’6 right for me?

Discerning couples seeking an easy entry into camp will appreciate the extensive automated features offered within this Grand Peak 19ft 6in, including:

  • An electric Carefree awning
  • Black Jack Trailer Jack
  • Electronic Stabilizer Legs
  • Cruisemaster XTFreestyle Airbag suspension with Horizon levelling.

Overlanders can also spend more time off-the-grid thanks to a sophisticated power system comprising 860W of weight-saving flexible solar panels, a 945Ah battery bank and a 3000W inverter.

A tough X-Guard coated FP laser cut chassis and disc brakes will also suit travellers navigating variable touring conditions.

2. Layout, Comfort & Liveability – Will it fit my lifestyle?

The Grand Caravans 19ft 6in layout features a front bed, a central café dinette opposite the kitchen and a full ensuite across the rear.

Interior Layout

Stepping through the rear door, the unencumbered timber-look bench reveals the kitchen setup‘s off-grid intent, with two portable induction cooktops stored in a slide-out drawer above the inbuilt microwave.

Soft matt ceilings and three levels of perimeter lighting create an ethereal flow further enhanced by its 2.1m tall ceiling. The living and dining area features a cafe dinette with lumbar support finished in stately, softly mottled brown upholstery.

It’s early days, but I feel there is a real shift away from detailed stitching popular on late 2024-2025 models – this Grand Caravans Peak demonstrates it nicely.

Comfort & Practicality

Towards the pocket-sprung queen-size bed, the sleeping configuration includes handy nooks that conceal wireless charger points either side of the bed at the bedside tables. You’ll also find Dieselheat controls to their hot water and diesel heating drawing powered via the Eberspacher furnace.

Other climate controls here include the myCOOLMAN 3KW Rooftop air-conditioner, the Milenco Dust Reduction with TV Antenna as well as Sirocco fans for managing airflow at the bed.

While at the rear, the bathroom layout includes a LooSeal toilet, offering an alternative to composting systems. LooSeal units use bags to seal waste for easier disposal and come with their own battery system.

That’s adjacent a wall of cabinetry that conceals the washing machine. It surrounds a backlit circular mirror above the white fluted basin, finished with gold tapware fittings that are found throughout this van.

3. Build, Features & Self-Sufficiency – Can it handle my adventures?

Grand Caravans fitted Cruisemaster XTFreestyle Airbags with M60 off-road shocks to this Peak, with external chambers for heat control over sustained corrugations.

Chassis & Suspension

Cruisemaster’s clever Body Control System manages the airbags nicely, offering Drive Move for push button adjustment within the driver’s cabin to suit the terrain and Horizon Levelling for faster setups at camp.

That’s not the only campsite aid, electrically-operated stabilisers plant the van in place effortlessly, while the Black Jack Maxi Electric Trailer Jack saves you from the manual task of winding down the jack–a welcome reprieve for those who struggle with back pain but want to keep on camping. Then, it’s just a matter of hitting the switch to activate the electric Carefree Awning.

I love the small touches like a vertical locker at an ergonomic height for camping tables and chairs and a beautiful external pantry, shown here with a coffee machine. We mentioned the coated toolbox early on, lots of enclosed storage and a firewood tray with tie-down points. The rear toolbox is just as impressive, too, with a drawer and ample storage for jerries.

A laser cut FP Chassis coated in X-Guard and DeeMaxx Disc brakes safely bring the Peak to a halt.

Power & Water systems

The Grand Caravans shown boasts a sophisticated electrical setup featuring a powerful 50A of DC-DC charging via the Victron Orion-TR Smart system.

It features a Victron Cerbo GX with GX Touch that lets you control your lights remotely and monitor the Victron Energy Electrical System. That pairs with a Victron Multiplus 3000 Inverter & 120A AC Charger for fast charging off-the-grid.

Other off-grid nicities include:

  • 4x 215W Flexible Solar Panels
  • 3x 315Ah Lithium Batteries
  • Hydronic Diesel Hot Water System with Air Heater
  • 2x 110L fresh water tanks, 1x 110L grey water tank
