What’s Up Downunder is back on Australian television, with a brand-new one-hour format launching Saturday, August 22 at 10:30am AEST on Channel 10.

And this season, we’re going bigger.
More destinations. More stories. More time on the road. And a new line-up of familiar and fresh faces taking viewers around Australia.

At the centre of the new-look What’s Up Downunder is Olympic champion Ariarne Titmus, who steps into the role of overall host, guiding viewers through each week’s adventures.

Along the way, a collection of presenters will take on individual journeys and features from some of Australia’s best touring destinations.

It All Starts in Tasmania

Episode 1 kicks off a four-episode Tasmanian journey with Jono Bleakley, beginning an adventure that showcases exactly why Tasmania remains one of Australia’s great road-trip destinations.

The journey starts before the wheels even hit the island, before moving through a mix of spectacular scenery, local produce, coastal experiences and destinations made for touring.
Viewers can expect stops including the Spirit of Tasmania, the truffle country around Deloraine, Bicheno and Tasmania’s spectacular east coast, with plenty more to come as the four-part journey unfolds.

We won’t give everything away just yet.

Episode 1 will also take a quick detour back to Victoria, with Fiona Basile, Author and Ocean Swim Photographer presenting a short-stay escape on the Mornington Peninsula with Camplify – showing that a memorable Australian getaway doesn’t always require weeks on the road.

And That’s Only the Beginning

Tasmania is just the opening chapter.

From Episodes 5–8, the season heads north to the tropical Whitsundays with Pro Big Wave Surfer, Felicity Palmateer, before exploring another completely different part of Australia in the Grampians with Camplify Restauranteur and Rock Climber, Gerardo Lopez.

From island coastlines and regional food to caravan touring, short stays and outdoor adventure, the new one-hour format gives What’s Up Downunder more room to explore the places, people and experiences that make travelling Australia so special.

It’s still the What’s Up Downunder viewers know – just with more time to tell the story.

Ariarne Titmus, born in Launceston, Tasmania, is one of Australia’s most celebrated swimmers. The Australian Olympic Committee lists her Olympic history as Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024. Her major career events include the 200m, 400m and 800m freestyle, plus the 4x200m freestyle relay.

Swimming Australia confirmed Titmus retired from all levels of swimming in October 2025 with 33 international medals. These include eight Olympic medals: four gold, three silver and one bronze.

Jono Bleakley is a keen fisherman and passionate traveller from the NSW Central Coast. Bringing his love of the outdoors and adventure to What’s Up Downunder, Jono leads an unforgettable journey through Tasmania.

Fiona Basile is an award-winning photographer, writer and ocean swimmer with a passion for storytelling. She joins What’s Up Downunder to explore the people, places and experiences of Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula.

Felicity Palmateer is a professional big-wave surfer, artist and passionate adventurer from Western Australia. She joins What’s Up Downunder to explore the tropical beauty and unforgettable experiences of the Whitsundays.

Gerardo Lopez is a Mexican-born restaurateur, passionate rock climber and outdoor adventurer. He joins What’s Up Downunder to explore the rugged landscapes, local flavours and experiences of Victoria’s Grampians.

A New Era for What’s Up Downunder

After more than 16 seasons on Australian television, the new season marks the next evolution of the show.

Ariarne Titmus will anchor the program each week, while presenters including Jono Bleakley, Fiona Basile, Felicity Palmateer and Gerardo Lopez head out to experience different destinations first-hand.

The result is a broader look at Australian travel – from long-haul caravan adventures to shorter escapes, food, fishing, local characters and some seriously impressive destinations.

And with a full hour each week, there’s much more to see.
