Oh my, what a paradise. To think this beautiful little village is only 30kms from Brisbane. An amazing boating mecca, Scarborough, Queensland, is on the tip of the Redcliffe Peninsula, giving visitors perfect access to the deeper waters for boats and fishing pursuits. It also features a very family-friendly beach for swimming, as demonstrated by little Bonnie, who is a water baby for sure.

There are loads of eateries along the Scarborough Esplanade, most with child-friendly menus, great beach and pier walks. The town is dotted with great activities for the kids including a pirate-themed adventure playground at Scarborough Beach Park where kids can explore the Railway Place as well as the Pirate Place plus a great tree-climbing area for the more adventurous.

With a beautiful climate all year round, Scarborough Queensland is a great place to visit, perhaps even a better place to live? Your call, but there is a great feeling around town that’s for sure.

Stop in and marvel at Bee Gees Way and have a hit at an underwater-themed mini golf with unbelievable movie ties, five minutes down the road.

Where to Stay: Scarborough Holiday Village

On absolute water frontage, the Scarborough Holiday Village boasts a northern aspect, while happily neighbouring the local yacht club on one side and a perfectly positioned park on the other. From the moment you arrive you will feel like you are on holidays, beautiful breezes off the water, palm trees swaying, surrounded by the picturesque parks, the beautiful Moreton Bay Marine Park and Moreton Island in the background.

Accommodation is taken care of with ample drive-through powered sites with concrete pads and manicured grass for you to relax on. There are several beautifully delivered one-and two-bedroom cabins for those who aren’t towing a caravan and the facilities such as amenities blocks, camp kitchen, BBQ, laundry and the on-site café are second to none.

Top that off with the fact that this is a pet friendly park, there’s nothing about this place that doesn’t work for me. Scarborough Holiday Village is one of those parks that, given the right opportunity, you will return to again and again.

Family Fun: Undersea Putt & Play with a Pirate Movie Twist

Grab those clubs! It’s a holiday must! Time for the kids – big and small – to have some fun and partake in a holiday tradition, a game of mini golf.

Ever wonder what it’s like playing putt putt with a golf professional? Well, we did, so it was down to Undersea Putt & Play Indoor Mini Golf Course to see how Wade Hooper, our golf pro actually fared.

Was he going to be competitive, could he play without giving too many instructions to the not-so-professionals or was he going to let the family enjoy the experience? I think he succeeded in allowing everyone to have a great time. It certainly looked like it.

And what a great course. It’s a whole lot of fun and a great day out for everyone – professional or not.

Putt and Play is located in Redcliffe and was built by the same people who built the set for the Pirates of the Caribbean movie that was shot on the Gold Coast.

A Musical Walk Down Bee Gees Way

What a fantastic tribute to these three fine musicians who were also regulars at the Redcliffe Speedway from the time Barry, the eldest Gibb brother was 14. Wander through Bee Gees Way and you will get a chronological history of their lives as well as pass by some spectacular statues of the brothers. All their album covers are on display as well as lists of their songs and significant life events.

Here We Go…

I’ve Just Gotta Get a Message to You because this truly is a great homage to the Bee Gees. It would be a Tragedy if you missed it. Words just can’t describe how great it is. It’s exhibitions like these that ensure great musicians like the Bee Gees are Stayin AliveYou Should be Dancing your way down this street. But don’t go Alone. If you’re in Redcliffe and you miss it How Can You Mend This Broken Heart? How deep is Your Love of this iconic band? I am not Jive Talkin, this truly is a great day out.

Whether you’re on a Holiday or it’s the First of MayBee Gees Way is the One thing you should do the next time you are in Redcliffe.

…I’m done!
