Splitters Farm Bundaberg: A Stay to Remember

Set amongst lush tropical bushland, Splitters Farm is a 160-acre property bordered by Splitters Creek, a freshwater nature reserve that feeds into Bundaberg’s beautiful Burnett River. Splitters Farm offers a unique rural camping and farm stay experience, while being a fantastic location to use as a base to explore the wider Bundaberg region and Southern Great Barrier Reef.

A Sanctuary for Rescued Animals

Splitters Farm first started in 2017 as a safe haven and sanctuary for rescued farm animals who had been neglected, abused or victims of their owners’ changing circumstances. Most, however, have come to Splitters Farm as the result of the drought and the subsequent financial burden for farmers to feed their livestock. The acreage is also a working farm and, in addition to its rescued barnyard animals, is also home to native Australian animals including wallabies, platypus, barramundi, prehistoric lung fish and boasts over 150 documented species of Australian bird life.

But there’s no doubt the animals are the stars of the show. There are an array of farm animals for the kids to meet including a camel, sheep, goats, chickens, horses, cows, and all sorts of ducks and geese. A stay at Splitters Farm will be both a joy and an amazing educational experience for your kids, something they will remember for the rest of their lives.

Caravan and RV Sites Available

The farm has a wide variety of accommodation available to visitors including powered and unpowered sites for caravans, RVs, camping etc. There also deluxe glamping safari tents and even a retro caravan that sleeps two that will transport you back to the ’70s in a flash. So much effort has gone in to the shared facilities like the camp kitchen. There are wood fire pizza’s available on weekends and fresh bread baked daily can be delivered to your door. Splitters Farm is a 10-minute drive north of Bundaberg’s bustling CBD.
