Questacon – The National Science and Technology Centre and its programmes are administered within the Australian Government Department of Industry, Innovation and Science.

At Questacon, they strive to promote greater understanding and awareness of science and technology within the community. They’re committed to making that experience fun, interactive, and relevant.

Questacon opened their Centre in Canberra in 1988, with half of the initial $20 million construction cost paid for by a generous grant from Japan.

Today, the Director, Professor Graham Durant, leads a team of over 200 staff members as well as an additional 65 Volunteer Explainers.

Each year, Questacon welcome over 430 000 visitors to their two our facilities in Canberra while more than 660 000 see our exhibitions in other museums and centres around Australia and overseas.
