Alice Springs Reptile Centre

Welcome to the Alice Springs Reptile Centre home to the largest reptile display in Central Australia. They display an extensive range of reptiles including Terry the Saltwater Crocodile, HUGE Perentie Goannas, Thorny Devils, Frill-neck Lizards and many other fascinating lizards including a varied selection of NT Geckos from the Alice Springs region, Barkly and the Top End on display in the amazing Gecko Cave.

The daily show is not to be missed. Each day at 11am, 1pm and 3.30pm the show includes a fun and informative talk on selected lizards and pythons followed by a supervised handling session.

Alice Springs Reptile Centre showcases Northern Territory reptiles. More than 100 reptiles of over fifty different species are exhibited indoors and outside in naturally landscaped surrounds. Terry’s Saltwater Crocodile exhibit features underwater viewing enabling you to get up close to this mighty predator and get some great photos!

Rex and the staff personally welcome everyone into the Reptile Centre and are always available to answer your questions. A major feature of the Reptile Centre is the opportunity to get close to the ‘locals.’ Informative talks are offered daily which may involve the feeding and handling of the friendlier reptiles.

School groups are made especially welcome. A fun and educational talk on the reptiles is provided and includes topics covering habitats, food, predators, adaptations, snake-bite first aid and how to avoid encounters with snakes in the wild. The session concludes with supervised handling of the friendlier lizards and pythons. Squeals of delight can be heard during the handling time whilst parents and teachers hide in the corner!

Coach groups and special interest groups are also welcome with tours of the Reptile centre tailored to suit your needs and time commitments. Bookings are advisable and appreciated.

Amaze ‘n’ Things Holiday Park

The park is in a spacious bush setting, only 4 kilometres from Cowes and close to the Penguin Parade, Seal Rocks and the Grand Prix Circuit. See Koalas just across the road at the Koala Conservation Centre. Stunning beaches, patrolled in Summer, put swimming or surfing less than 5 minutes’ drive away.

Enjoy cooking in our large camp kitchen which includes a commercial-sized wood-fired pizza oven. We also have wi-fi access, an extensive games room (coin operated), playgrounds and everything else you need like great laundry facilities.
The accommodation is one section of the A Maze ‘N Things Theme Park based on mazes, games, puzzles, and optical illusions. (PLEASE NOTE: A Maze’N Things attractions are owned and operated separately to our Holiday Park).

About the region

The small settlement of Arthur River is named after the river and is home to fewer than 40 permanent residents. Located on Tasmania’s rugged west coast, Arthur River lies at the mouth of Tasmania’s only major river which is completely wild; a river in the heart of the Tarkine Wilderness which has never been logged or dammed; a river where one of the world’s largest tract of cool temperate rainforest drains into the mighty Southern Ocean.

Centuries old forest giants of brown top stringybark, blackwood, myrtle, leatherwood, and sassafras have become the foundation of coastal dunes and lay buried in the sand for thousands of years. The reason this place is called “The Edge of the World” is because the battered coastline and isolated river mouth lie 15,000km from the next land mass which is Patagonia, the south east coast of Argentina.

Where’s mine 😂😂

I don’t agree with your towing selections. It put preconceived ideas that we can have bigger vans and bigger tow vehicles. Which is unsustainable due to the energy to build the vehicles and run them. We have good stable of mid size 4 x 4 that are perfect for towing. Once the new generation of motors due to Australia having the least pollution control same as Russia things may change again.

Macca just hope you can return it in the same condition as you picked it up
