We had great live show filled with very talented musicians, the fireworks were amazing and the caravans had a lot of foot traffic. Thank you to everyone who has  donated along the way, every cent makes a huge difference in assisting the National Breast Cancer Foundation in reaching their goal of ZERO deaths by 2030!

Thank you to all our sponsors and supporters, we could not have done this without you!

Fun and scary

Wow, today was a day full of conquering our fears and enjoying the moment! I don’t think any of us woke up ready for what we were about to experience.

To ease into the day, some of our team took a scenic flight from Bandicoot Adventure Flights on the Tiger Mouth plane, what a different perspective we were given of the beautiful region of Gippsland, then before Macca could say cya later on the first experience he was taken on the flight of his life on the acrobatics flight option! He was tossed, turned, spiralled and upside down, it was thrilling, the adrenaline was pumping and fear was know where to be seen.

The next adrenaline rush was laser tag, kids, parents and friends took each other on running around, climbing through windows, army crawling on the floor, there was laughter and screams when we were snuck up on.

The afternoons challenge was the ropes course, a 3 level course full of crazy obstacles, you ended up in the splits, cross legged, twisted and turned! It was fun, challenging and fulfilling for not only conquering our fear of heights but also being able to complete it. Macca and Tania raced for another Challenge fo Chairty, to see who could finish the first level on the ropes course in the quickest time! Stay tuned to see who won, episodes airing in January

We are excited to see what adventures we get to be apart of tomorrow!

Getting down and dirty

Today we took a beautiful scenic route through West Gippsland to the gorgeous town of Healesville and the Big4 Yarra Valley Park Lane Holiday Park. There was no mucking around, it was straight into setting the caravans up, eat lunch and off we went to Hedgend Maze.

Hedgend Maze is a fantastic place that has somethings for everyone! Their objective is to create an environment that challenges and encourages people to explore in their innate state, enhancing positive associations and expectations of physical gratification and pleasure through your senses.

Admission into Hedgend Maze allows you to enjoy full access to all of their park attractions, 18 Holes of Mini Golf , 9 Rounds of Frisbee Golf, Famous 1.2km Hedge Maze with a secret message to discover inside, Fossil Dig, Mini Native Maze, Giant Eye-Spy Mural, Agility Maze, Rainbow Lateral Thinking Maze and Chookology.

If you’re looking for more of a thrill then do what we did, experience a LIVE adrenaline fuelled version of Call Of Duty, in an outdoor battlefield. Laser Sport can be described as a combination of modern computer games and military training scenarios, where players work with a strong emphasis on tactics, stealth and strategy in order to win missions.

We got dressed in our camo gear, had our faces painted and were handed our laser guns (they were surprisingly, a little heavy), we were shown our battlefield and Tania and Macca chose their teams. Hat Team: Macca, Angie, Ron, Di and Adele, Hatless Team: Tania, Amber, Wayne, Ashlee and Bruce. This was a challenge for charity, so it was important that we got down & dirty and into character! We all had a lot of fun, we were running, army crawling, hiding behind trees and laying on the ground trying to take out the other team.

This is a great team building exercise if you’re looking for one, it takes coordination, communication and team work to win (skill is a bonus if you have it)!

We look forward to tomorrows adventures, and if you’re attending our Happy Hour in Yea, we are excited to meet all of you!

New Experience

Today was a pretty exciting day, we visited the Yea Winery, Cider and Brewery, where we learnt how to bottle wine, we went tin rattling in Yea and played riverside cricket after dinner!

Theres nothing better on a Saturday morning then starting your day down at Yea Winery, Cider and Brewery, we were greeted with, tea, coffee and hot chocolate before we were shown the process of bottling wine. Then it came to doing it ourselves (this was going to be interesting)! We had a few participants, and a few quality control (taste testers)!

First Step: Fill the wine bottle
Second Step: Finger measure
Third Step: Cork it
Fourth Step: Clean it
Fifth Step: Capsule it
Final Step: Label it

This was an amazing and unique experience, if you’re looking to visit a winery but want something different than the typical walk around then this is for you!

Once we wrapped up our tour we headed back to camp for some lunch before we went back into town for some tin rattling! What a beautiful sight it was seeing locals and travellers alike out in the sun sitting on the grass and just enjoying the simple things in life! Thank you everyone who donated.

We had a delicious Roast Pork Roast for dinner cooked by our wonderful catering girls (they are very talented), and then we all played some riverside cricket, this was a bunch of fun seeing all ages get involved, we did loose a few tennis balls to the river (hence the riverside cricket), but our trusty team retrieved them (one of our camera guys lost his wallet when he went fishing for the ball).

We now end the night with a glass of wine, from which we had bottled earlier today.

Two exciting adventures

Today was full of two exciting adventures, exploring Raymond Island and cruising on a yacht. We were blessed with beautiful weather which added to the tranquility and serenity we experienced.

On a side note one of our team members had a Mexican stand off with a Swan that wouldn’t let her into her cabin. To say the least, the swan out smarted her for 5 minutes as she ran from one side of the cabin to the other trying to get it to move!

You may or may not know, to travel to Raymond Island from Paynesville you need to catch the ferry, we caught the ferry over and was greeted by Victor from Ride the Koalas who kindly set us up with our tout-tout style bikes, and we rode around the island trying to spot Koala’s. Did you know that Koalas sleep for 22 hours a day. We didn’t see many Koalas as you normally would as they were hidden away with their young. To wrap up the ferry trip back, we had a coffee along the water then ventured back to the caravan park for some lunch.

For the afternoon, we went on luxury yacht sailing through the water ways and saw come amazing caves, the personal tour stopped at the Metung Pub where we enjoyed a relaxing beverage before heading back.

The remaining team members who didn’t go on the Yacht were waiting eagerly for us to return (we were gone for 3 hours or so) to have the delicious dinner that our catering girls had prepared for us. Its an early night for us WUDUer’s as we pack up and leave for Traralgon tomorrow morning.

We would like to thank Allawah Caravan and Boat Park for their amazing hospitality, if you’re looking for accommodation in Paynesville hit them up, you won’t be disappointed!

Sunshine in Traralgon

What a beautiful day it was in Traralgon, the sun was shinning, it was around 24 degrees (lovely spring weather) we were all happy, cheerful and ready for the afternoon ahead.

This morning we got up early packed our bags, cars, caravans and enjoyed another magnificent breakfast cooked for us by our lovely catering girls. We hit the open road and allowed the camera crew to advance 10 minutes ahead so they could film shots of the caravanners driving by, once again everyone kept in constant communication which allows travelling in a large convoy to run with ease!

When we arrived at Traralgon Park Lane Holiday Park (voted best holiday park within the Latrobe Valley region) we were wowed by their amazing facilities! Laser Tag, Ropes Course, Indoor Play Centre, Swimming Pool, Put Put, Out Door Playground and a Function Room! A park packed full of FUN for kids of all ages!

As we settled in, it was straight into more filming of park overlays, episode wraps and intro’s and then our Happy Hour! Thank you to all the local produce who came along and allowed the public to taste your very delicious food and for supporting the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

Fireman Ron and Angie were a hit! A few of the crew members and caravanners quickly became groupies! Everyone had a blast! Thank you to the general public and travellers for your generosity with your donations.
